General Plan

Murrieta’s General Plan 2035 provides a “blueprint” for the city’s growth and resources to serve an estimated build out population of 133,452 within the city’s incorporated limits of 33.61 square miles (21,511 acres).  The General Plan includes the State mandated elements of Land Use, Circulation, Conservation, Recreation and Open Space, Air Quality, Noise and Safety, as well as optional elements of Economic Development and Healthy Community.  Additionally, a Climate Action Plan was adopted, which describes measures intended to reduce greenhouse emissions.

The following is the public review draft of the General Plan 2035.  The final edits reflecting the City Council's action is currently being completed and will soon be available.
