Recently an independent preliminary forensic audit was conducted in regards to the embezzlement investigation involving Paul Nogaki, which showed a loss to the Vista Murrieta Golden Alliance Band Boosters of approximately $212,000. The case was reviewed by the Riverside County Financial Crimes Unit of the District Attorney’s office. On October 24, 2012, Paul Nogaki was arraigned at Southwest Superior Court on charges of 487a PC – Grand Theft, 12022.6(a) PC – Theft over $150,000., 503 PC – Embezzlement, and 186.11 (a)(1) PC – Embezzlement over $100,000.

On August 29th, 2012 at about 1400 hours, Paul Nogaki was arrested at his Murrieta home for Embezzlement and Grand Theft. For the past two years, Nogaki was the treasurer for the Vista Murrieta Golden Alliance Band Boosters. The booster club is a nonprofit organization comprised of parents of Vista Murrieta High School Band members. The booster club raises money to assist and supplement band activities such as travel, food and other related expenses not covered under the school district budget. The Golden Alliance Booster Club is a separate legal entity independent of Vista Murrieta High School and the Murrieta Valley Unified School District.
