On Wednesday – October 31st, 2012 at 6:45 am, Murrieta police officers and fire fighters received a radio call of a fire at the Waterstone Apartments (24850 Hancock Avenue, Murrieta). The fire was extinguished and Shanae Christina Wesley, age 23, was located deceased inside the apartment.
Ms. Wesley’s son, age 3, was inside the apartment during the fire and was rescued by a neighbor. He was treated for minor injuries and released to his extended family. His identity is still not being released by the Murrieta Police Department.
The men and women of the Murrieta Police Officers Association (MPOA) have opened a “trust fund / educational savings account” for Ms. Wesley’s son. On Monday – November 19th, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Chick-fil-A (24794 Madison Ave., Murrieta) will be hosting a fundraiser for Ms. Wesley’s son. Chick-fil-A will be kind enough to donate 20% of the total earnings from that night to the “trust fund / educational savings account” - mark your calendars and we'll see you there!
