Development opportunities are available. While the city is not selling any of the sites, it is engaging in long-term land leases with suitable partners. Infrastructure has been completed, including installation of fiber optic lines.
Town Square encompasses two city blocks – some 34 acres – located on the fringe of the original downtown and just two blocks from I-15.
All of the buildings are being nestled around a lush four-acre park, anchored by an amphitheater and adorned with heavy landscaping. The park – and its Murrieta Through Time historical monuments – is expected to be under construction by February, 2006.
Already in place is the law enforcement center, which opened in 2002, and the seniors center that was finished in 2005.
Construction on the city’s first permanent library facility got underway in December, 2005.
And the new city hall anticipated a construction start by March, 2006.
Both facilities should be ready for occupancy by early 2007.
