City of Murrieta – Seventeen Murrieta firefighters responded to an early morning blaze at the Cal Oaks Bowling Alley this morning, arriving on scene at 4:04 a.m. to find flames coming from the roof area. The fire was knocked down within twenty minutes. Murrieta Fire was assisted by two CAL-FIRE engine companies.
The fire was limited to the roof air conditioning units and the kitchen roof exhaust system. The automated sprinkler system inside the building was activated. Fire damage is estimated to be approximately $25,000, with an additional $100,000 in water damage due to the nature of the facility and the extent of wood flooring.
Estimated property value saved is approximately $2,000,000. The bowling alley expects to be back in operation by Wednesday evening.
There were no injuries reported with this incident.
