Meet Fire Chief Matt Shobert

Fire Chief Matt Shobert retired on December 30, 2014.  The city is currently recruiting for a new Fire Chief and will make an announcement, once the selection has been made.

I would like to welcome you to the Murrieta Fire Department’s new revised web-site. 

As the relatively new fire chief for Murrieta Fire Department, I am humbled to be a part of its proud and distinguished history. I am honored to assist and be part in setting the direction for a successful future. 

The dedicated men and women who make up the Murrieta Fire Department are committed to providing exemplary emergency and customer service to our residents, business owners and visitors. 
Prior to being appointed the Fire Chief for the Murrieta Fire Department in March 2011, I served as Fire Chief for two other jurisdictions. 

Achievements include: Master’s Degree in Organizational Management, Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science.  Graduated in 2007 from the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officers' Program, three time accredited as a Chief Fire Officer Designee (CFOD) by CPSE and was recently conferred Membership into the Institution of Fire Engineers (MIFireE).
