The Friends of the Murrieta Library are an all-volunteer non-profit group organized to support the Murrieta Public Library. The group was actually formed well before the city’s first library facility opened and was the chief advocate for Murrieta creating its own public library system in 1998.

The group’s primary fundraising activity is its Friends Bookstore, stocked with an average of 15,000 titles in an array of categories that are neatly arranged in its 1,500 square foot store front location. The At the Corner Bookstore sells about 3,000 used books a month.

There is also a Friends Bookstore, Town Square Bookstore, located near the entrance to the Murrieta Public Library at Eight Town Square.

The center is northeasterly of the I-215 and Los Alamos interchange.

The Town Square Bookstore is located at Eight Town Square (Kalmia and Adams) near the entrance to the Murrieta Public Library.

How to donate books

All the books are donated. Those having books to contribute may drop them off at the stores or the library, both during business hours only.

How to join

About 60 Friends volunteers staff the store. If you’d like to join the Friends, stop by a store to get an application.

All proceeds from the store and other fundraising activities, such as the Friends’ annual fashion show, are helping stock the library with new materials. The group has contributed tens of thousands of dollars to augment money the city has set aside to stock the new library at Town Square.

In addition to fundraising, the Friends have monthly membership meetings and programs as well as other occasional cultural activities.
