 | Off-Road Motorcycle Enforcement The Off-Road Unit has been established to provide this city’s off-highway and rural areas with law enforcement service. The primary duties of the Off-Road Unit include protecting the rights of land owners against off-road vehicles trespassing onto their private property, identifying potential fire hazards on undeveloped land and assisting with search and rescue missions in areas not accessible by road. The Off-Road Unit is available for mutual aide requests received by surrounding public safety agencies or by the California Emergency Management Agency. Sergeant Jim Gruwell
