The purpose of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (S.W.A.T.) is to perform special tactical missions at the request of the Chief of Police or Watch commander in response to an unusual occurrence or highly dangerous, life threatening police situations where special skills, tactics, training, and/or equipment are required to protect life and property.
