To honor and recognize the service of the military veterans among the Murrieta Police Departments Police Volunteer Cadre, The Murrieta Police Officer's Association (MPOA) has purchased 19 flags for the "Field of Honor" recognizing the 19 veterans currently serving as volunteers at the Police Department.
The Rotary Club of Murrieta, in partnership with the City of Murrieta, is hosting the 2009 Field of Honor at Town Square Park in Historic Downtown Murrieta from November 8, 2009 to November 14, 2009, where visitors will behold a beautiful display of U.S. Flags. Veterans Day has always been a major celebration for the City of Murrieta, but this year will be the biggest and most spectacular ever.
The MPOA benefits directly every day from the time and effort police volunteers put forth handling administrative duties inside the Department, and field related duties throughout the City. All members of the MPOA are extremely grateful for their service to our Police Department and our great City.
The $665 donation made by the MPOA to the Rotary Club of Murrieta to acquire these flags, directly recognizes our Police Volunteer Veterans with a living display of heroism as their flags fly in patriotic tribute to the strength and unity of Americans during Veteran's Day week. Their flag with their name and branch of service attached to it, is also contributing monies to Murrieta's Veteran's Memorial in Town Square Park which is being dedicated this week. |
