Incident Summary

On 11-07-09 at 1131 hours, Murrieta Police officers responded to the 24000 block of Madison Avenue reference a fight in progress. One of the parties in the fight was possibly armed with a knife.

Upon arrival one victim was found at the scene. The female adult victim was bleeding and had a laceration above her left ear. The suspect had left prior to officers arriving on scene.  An investigation was conducted and the suspect, Teri Scott 01-18-61, was identified.

Both Scott and the victim were acquaintances and were at the location to perform a child custody exchange. While at the location an argument ensued. During the argument Scott produced the knife and swung it at the victim several times, causing the injuries. The children that were on scene for the exchange were also put in harm’s way while Scott was swinging the knife.

Scott was contacted at her residence in Murrieta a short time later and was taken into custody. Scott was eventually booked into the Southwest Detention Center for the charge of 664/187(a) P.C. attempted murder and 273(a) P.C. child endangerment.
