Incident Summary

On February 10, 2010 at 0218 Murrieta officers responded to a gunshot Victim at Inland Valley ER.  It was discovered the Victim was shot in the neck after attending a party in the 29000 block of Lynn Court in the City of Murrieta.  Murrieta Detectives Andy Spagnolo and Phil Gomez responded to handle the investigation.  Detective Spagnolo and Gomez were able to identify the Suspect as 21 year-old Giancarlo Campo of Temecula.  Campo was found to be a documented gang member from San Diego County and on probation for a previous assault with a deadly weapon conviction.  Campo has several prior violent felony convictions.   Detectives from the Murrieta Police Department SET Team arrested Campo in his vehicle located in front of his Temecula residence in the 33000 block of Elizabeth Ct. in Temecula.  Campo was transported to the South West Detention Center and booked for Attempt Murder, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon using a firearm.  Campo is being held on 2,000,000.00 bail.  The investigation is ongoing; any one with information regarding the shooting is encouraged to call Detective Spagnolo or Gomez at 461-6307.
