ABOP Drop Off Center
The Riverside County ABOP facility is open every Saturday (except holiday weekends and weather permitting), to collect your used antifreeze, household and automotive batteries, used oil and latex paint. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is located at 25315 Jefferson Avenue in Murrieta (just North of Murrieta Hot Springs Road). Residents with current disposal service receive 2 annual bulky item cleanups per year at no additional charge. For an additional fee, residents may order bulky item pickups throughout the year.

Household Hazardous Waste
The Riverside County Environmental Health Department offers regular Hazardous Waste Roundup Days. Residents may drop off household hazardous waste items at the Murrieta site on those dates.
Accepted items include: deodorizers, cleaners, bleach, floor wax, spot remover, drain cleaner, furniture polish, aerosol cans, latex paints, oil-based paints, weed killer, fertilizer, anti-freeze, pesticides, pool chlorine, household and automotive batteries, garden chemicals, motor oil and barbeque propane tanks.
Five gallons of hazardous liquid waste or a total of 50 pounds maximum per car (multiple trips allowed) can be dropped off at each visit. Containers must be marked and secured to prevent leaks. Containers holding gasoline will not be returned.
Restricted items include: business and non-profit waste, explosives and ammunition, 55-gallon drums, radioactive material, appliances, tires and medical waste. If you are unsure about your waste being accepted, please contact the facility prior to loading your vehicle.

*Waste Management will collect used oil each week from your curb on your normal collection day. Please use clear containers and mark as used oil. Place your clearly marked container at the curb next to your bins. Make sure the lid is secure to prevent spillage. Your container will be emptied and returned to the curb.
Medical Waste
Diabetics and others who rely on injected medications must dispose of used medical equipment in an environmentally responsible manner. Please visit the Riverside County Environmental Health Departments website for guidelines relating to medical waste disposal.
Landfill Locations
